Though her father, a devout Christian, was ashamed of his child for some time, Gigi never waivered in embracing exactly who she was meant to be. Gigi, who proudly walked around in glittery heels at the age of 4 and discovered drag at 15, identifies as nonbinary and gender-fluid. This statistic rises to more than 50 percent for those who identify as trans and nonbinary. Gigi then added that struggling with mental health shouldn't make someone feel ashamed, as those struggles do not define who you are as a human being.Īccording to an LGBTQ+ mental health report by The Trevor Project, 40% of LGBTQ+ youth have considered suicide in the last year. You are just going through this chemical imbalance in your brain that needs to be fixed through counseling, sometimes medication," she remarked.
